Project Manager

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Psychological Counseling / Psychology/ Social Studies/ law or other related qualification in the field of humanitarian studies. Master’s degree in related fields is preferred. Significant relevant work experience in those specific areas will be considered as an added value. 

General Work Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as Protection/Child Protection/Gender Based Violence Project Manager/ Coordinator. 
  • Experience in managing projects that have many geographical locations remotely
  • Experience in managing and implementing humanitarian or emergency projects
  • Experience in managing/supervising staff
  • Experience of providing training and capacity building on protection issues

Skills:

  • Languages: Very Good at English and Arabic (writing –reading –speaking). Turkish language will be desired
  • Computing: Proficient in Microsoft Office including, excel, word, outlook etc. Experience with Power BI will be an added value
  • Communication skills: negotiating, facilitating and presenting as well as strong verbal and written communication skills are required

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the assigned Project/Projects successfully
  • Conduct regular follow up meetings with Project Teams
  • Develop Project plans (detailed implementation plan, procurement plan, human resource plan, spending plan…etc.) in collaboration with Protection Program Manager
  • Ensure effective implementation of project that meets contractual obligations including all partner/ donor policy, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Ensure activities are in line with community and beneficiary needs
  • Ensure Project activities are implemented to a high quality based upon related standards (e.g. Sphere, Child Protection Minimum Standards CPMS, GBV Minimum Standards, International Mine Action Standards IMAS Core Humanitarian Standards, etc.)
  • Manage Project budget and understand Financial Reports
  • Prepare and follow up with Projects Financial requests
  • Ensure proper Project documentation and compilation of project data and upload it to the local server
  • Maintaining proper communication with partner, donor and local authorities
  • Follow Program Manager’s instructions to ensure best coordination with Protection Cluster/Sub-Clusters or Working Groups 
  • Frequent travel to attend Partners/ Protection Cluster/Sub-Clusters and Working Groups meetings
  • Conduct field visits to Syria based on project needs
  • Ensure risks are appropriately managed, including financial, safety and security, programmatic and reputational
  • Ensure all internal and external narrative and financial reports (weekly, monthly, interim and final) are submitted within agreed timeframes to the relevant stakeholders
  • Coaching, mentoring, training and development of project staff
  • Coordinate closely with the program manager on the project implementation progress
  • Work closely with other departments on all issues related to assigned project
